An interactive musical workshop created by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is being performed across three sessions this Saturday at the Geelong Arts Centre.<\/p>\n

Designed for children up to five years old, \u201cJams for Juniors\u201d is led by presenter, composer and conductor Karen Kyriakou.<\/p>\n

Kids and their families will play along to orchestral arrangements as they\u2019re guided through the 40-minute workshop, which aims to familiarise young children with instruments and sounds through educational games and activities.<\/p>\n

Six musicians from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will perform selections from French composer Camille Saint-Sa\u00ebns\u2019 \u201cCarnival of the Animals\u201d, where music represents different creatures, great and small.<\/p>\n

Little people with an aptitude for movement are invited to clap, stamp, honk, quack and sing along with the Melbourne masters of classical music at 10am, 11.30am or 1pm this Saturday.<\/p>\n

Audiences will have the opportunity to test out some of the orchestral tools post-concert.<\/p>\n

Free craft activities will also be held in the Geelong Arts Centre\u2019s foyer spaces after the performance, which is being held in the Arts Centre\u2019s newest space, Studio 4.<\/p>\n

Single tickets are $24, while tickets for groups of four or more are $20.<\/p>\n

Jam for Juniors is part of the Geelong Arts Centre\u2019s Family Magic program for 2020, which includes The 91 Storey Treehouse May 16, Whoosh! May 23, Ann-Droid: The Wonderful Adventures of a Robot Girl June 10, Go, Go, Go! July 3 and 4 and Edward The Emu September 4 and 5.<\/p>\n
