Apollo Bay SLSC<\/a> spent the money on resuscitation equipment.<\/p>\nBarwon Water general manager of customers and community Jo Murdoch said the water authority was proud of its long association with the region\u2019s surf lifesaving clubs.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur surf lifesaving clubs are a vital part of our community, helping visitors to local beaches have a safe and enjoyable experience,\u201d Ms Murdoch said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt Barwon Water, we are very pleased to be able to help them through our community sponsorship program.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ocean Grove SLSC\u2019s Anna McDonald said the funds had been put to good use.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe new rescue boards have already been great value to us this summer, and we hope to get much more use out of them throughout the year.\u201d<\/p>\n
Minister for Water Lisa Neville welcomed the grant announcement.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a fantastic investment in a critical service,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur lifesaving clubs ensure our beaches are safe for tourists and residents and are run by volunteers.<\/p>\n
