DUE to concerns about the coronavirus, this Saturday’s Tiger Drop will be streamed online but not open to the public.<\/p>\n

The event, which serves as the main fundraiser for Torquay’s cricket, football and netball clubs, was set to include various forms of entertainment at Spring Creek Reserve surrounding the golf ball drop.<\/p>\n

However, the drop itself will still go ahead, giving people the chance to win up to $15,000.<\/p>\n

Torquay Football Netball Club president Jenny Wood said the effects of the coronavirus made the fundraiser even more important for the clubs.<\/p>\n

“We are facing unprecedented times. We’re trying to cut back where possible on spending and any fundraising we can do that doesn’t involve bringing people together will be paramount.<\/p>\n

“We’d love people to get on board and buy a ticket because it benefits all three clubs, which are all going to take a big hit.”<\/p>\n

The helicopter will fly over Spring Creek Reserve to drop the golf balls at about 7pm on Saturday, March 21.<\/p>\n

People are still able to purchase tickets to get a ball in the drop.<\/p>\n

Tickets are available at torquaytigers.com\/event\/tiger-drop<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The golf ball drop will be streamed on the cricket, football and netball club’s Facebook pages.<\/p>\n
