Overwhelmed with gratitude, Ms Sandell shared a photo of her gift to the Surf Coast Community Noticeboard in the hope of igniting some positive discussion about the pandemic.<\/p>\n
But her post \u2013 which ticked more than 700 likes \u2013 quickly revealed who was behind the anonymous gesture.<\/p>\n
Rebecca Stengewis said her two children, Jack, 14, and Abbey, 11, went to Torquay\u2019s Aldi supermarket and bought a large toilet paper packet for home before realising others might need it more.<\/p>\n
\u201cAbbey had given some rolls to Mary next door who\u2019s an older lady. She got such a buzz from passing on that goodwill that she said \u2018I think I want to deliver one to everyone in the street\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was really sweet.\u201d<\/p>\n
Abbey, who attends school at Bellbrae Primary School, said she wanted to put a smile on people\u2019s faces during this \u201ccrazy time\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just wanted to be kind and show support to the people in our community that can\u2019t get to the supermarkets early enough,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Ms Stengewis said she was proud of her children and their ability to show kindness in the wake of a crisis.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor me it\u2019s about producing children that make a difference in the world \u2013 it\u2019s not the academic stuff I worry about. It\u2019s about raising really good people who contribute to society in a positive way.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
