THE Potato Shed in Drysdale has closed its door until further notice in response to the coronavirus pandemic, with some performances either cancelled or postponed.<\/p>\n

The City of Greater Geelong council-managed facility issued a media alert last week to announce the April performance of Susan O\u2019Neill, who this newspaper profiled in Times Living on March 19, would no longer go ahead. <\/p>\n

Cosi, The Sidemen, The Bayside Drifters and Mayhem & Mullets have been postponed, program co-ordinators said. <\/p>\n

\u201cBased on advice from the Department of Health and Human Services about the coronavirus outbreak, the decision has been made to temporarily close the Potato Shed to the general public until further notice. <\/p>\n

\u201cSchools and tenants will continue to have access until further advised. The health and wellbeing of our community is the basis of this decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe apologise for the disappointment this will cause to our audiences.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be in contact with ticket buyers in the coming days to offer a refund or the option to keep their ticket for a rescheduled performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will provide the opportunity for ticket buyers to support the artists, casual staff and community groups who will be affected by this closure by forgoing their refund.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Potato Shed box office will be available for contact via phone or email, but people are advised to be patient as staff navigate what they\u2019ve dubbed an \u201cunprecedented situation\u201d. <\/p>\n
