THE Surf Coast Shire council has changed the way it delivers its childhood immunisation services, with the council now offering weekly sessions by individual appointment at locations across the region.<\/p>\n

On May 11 the shire indicated its Environmental Health Unit would continue to administer free childhood immunisations for all vaccines listed on the National Immunisation Program (NIP) schedule, however noted the dates and times had been adjusted in response to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

The shire’s general manager of environment and development Ransce Salan said the measures were taken in the interests of health and safety.<\/p>\n

“Children from six months to under five years of age will have access to free flu vaccines through this service.”<\/p>\n

So far the council has delivered two immunisation services at Surf Coast Shire Children Services Hub on Grossmans Road, including one on May 13 and another yesterday (May 20).<\/p>\n

The hub will host a further two sessions on May 27 (9am-12pm) and June 3 (9am-12pm).<\/p>\n

The immunisation service will move to Moriac Maternal and Child Health Centre (1.30pm-2pm) and Winchelsea Shire Hall (3-4pm) on June 3.<\/p>\n

Residents in Anglesea and Lorne will have access to the service on June 10 at Anglesea Kindergarten (9-10am) and Lorne Maternal and Child Health Centre (11am-12pm) respectively.<\/p>\n
