{"id":3974,"date":"2017-12-05T11:02:16","date_gmt":"2017-12-05T00:02:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=3974"},"modified":"2018-01-30T18:58:59","modified_gmt":"2018-01-30T07:58:59","slug":"kylie-stage-geelong-gallery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/living\/kylie-stage-geelong-gallery\/","title":{"rendered":"Kylie on Stage at Geelong Gallery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Geelong Gallery is delighted to announce that Kylie on Stage, an exhibition celebrating magical moments from Kylie Minogue\u2019s highly successful concert tours, will open at Geelong Gallery on December 10 as part of the exhibition\u2019s regional tour.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The exhibition features upwards of 50 items, including full body costumes, hair pieces, shoes and many accessories.<\/p>\n<p>Known for her eccentric costumes made by well-known designers, Kylie is excited for her fans to see a more of a behind the scenes look at some of her most famous costumes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m excited for fans to get up close and personal with my costumes and to get a glimpse behind the curtain to see some of the design process,\u201d Kylie Minogue said.<\/p>\n<p>The free exhibition is drawn from Kylie\u2019s spectacular stage wardrobe held at Arts Centre Melbourne\u2019s Australian Performing Arts Collection and features costumes from tours dating back to 1989 as well as more recent tours such as Kylie Aphrodite les Follies in 2011. Featured designers within the world-first exhibition include Dolce and Gabbana, John Galliano, Julien Macdonald, Karl Lagerfeld and Jean Paul Gaultier as well as local designers including Peter Morrissey and Mark Burnett.<\/p>\n<p>Geelong Gallery director and chief executive officer Jason Smith said the gallery was excited to present Kylie on Stage during summer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s such a sleek and sophisticated exhibition; from the black walls, exhibition furniture and stunning designs, there is such a strong presence of Kylie herself, it will really be amazing,\u201d Jason said.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition is approached chronologically with themed areas that reflect the development of Kylie\u2019s stage persona throughout her career.
