THE Lions Club of Anglesea has been spreading kindness by helping stop the spread of the virus.<\/p>\n
Earlier in the month, the club partnered with Anglesea District and Community Bank to set up a stall at Anglesea’s shopping precinct where they handed out masks to passerby’s who needed one.<\/p>\n
Club member Adrian Hunter said the Anglesea Lions were eager to ensure the town was well protected from transmission.<\/p>\n
“We organised this before we even knew there would be regulations about facemasks. We really wanted to promote people wearing a mask.”<\/p>\n
The club has decided to extend to their generosity further after the regulations prohibiting people to be in public without a mask came into effect.<\/p>\n
They put together care packages for their older members to support them during lockdown<\/p>\n
Mr Hunter said these packages will help their recipients through difficult times.<\/p>\n
“We’re going to call it a ‘survivor pack’. They will be for elderly people, with little things to keep them occupied and a mask.”<\/p>\n
These packages, which the club are currently handing out, not only include masks but crossword books, writing pads and more.<\/p>\n
Anglesea District and Community Bank once again support them by donating $500 to help the Lions Club of Anglesea fill the packages.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
