\nClub official Sarah O\u2019Dwyer said TSLSC were preparing to retire the club\u2019s old barbecue trailer, when Aussie BBQ Cleaning\u2019s Scott Dell gifted the club with a custom trailer which will help the club continue its fundraising efforts.
\n\u201cOur wishes for the trailer were answered thanks to the generous sponsorship from club member Scott Dell, who gifted the club a brand new customer made trailer, with all the bells and whistles,\u201d Sarah said.
\n\u201cThe iconic community barbecue is not only a great way to fundraise, it\u2019s the
\nwater cooler of many sporting clubs and charities alike.
\n\u201cIt\u2019s where parents gather while their kids battle it out in training and competition, newcomers linger to become initiated and the heart and soul of many not-for-profit groups.
\n\u201cWe are incredibly thankful to Scott for his generous donation which will see us fundraise into the future and foster the important community spirit.\u201d
\nScott said Aussie BBQ Cleaning\u2019s donation was to help the club, and a way to say thanks.
\n\u201cMy family and I have been club members for many years and I\u2019d been looking for a way to give back to the club,\u201d Mr Dell said.
\n\u201cIt worked out perfectly, the club needed a BBQ trailer, my business specialises in BBQ cleaning, maintenance and repairs \u2013 it\u2019s a natural fit.\u201d
\nAs the club welcomes the new trailer, Sarah said the old trailer had seen its share of adventures over the years.
\n\u201cAn optimistic thief took the trailer on a sneaky trip to Waurn Ponds, they must have thought they could make their fortune sizzling sausages on the run,\u201d she said.
\n\u201cFortunately, the old trailer was spotted by a community member and brought back home, if only it could talk.\u201d
\nWith additional support from the Torquay Lions Club and the crew at MCG Signs installing some new artwork, the new TSLSC barbecue trailer is ready for some serious sausage sizzling and egg and bacon action this summer, to raise much needed funds for the life saving patrol on the
\nTorquay beach.
