AN INDUSTRY-led roadshow rolled into Melbourne on Tuesday to show off Geelong\u2019s combination of entrepreneurism, connectedness, affordability and beachside lifestyle.<\/p>\n
The Transforming Geelong Roadshow aimed to shine a spotlight on the business and lifestyle opportunities in Geelong, which is expected to grow to 300,000 people by 2031 and 500,000 by 2050.<\/p>\n
The roadshow touted the city as a corporate and government headquarter hub; a centre of knowledge, innovation and research; a hub for allied and health services; a transport and logistics hub and as a lifestyle and tourism destination.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are asking people to look at Geelong through new eyes and see the unique and attractive package it presents as a business and lifestyle choice.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has a regional heartbeat, yet is Victoria\u2019s second-largest city.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt offers enviable coastal living, yet is less than 60 minutes from the Melbourne CBD. Geelong is exciting, affordable, and welcoming.\u201d<\/p>\n
The roadshow was launched by Premier Daniel Andrews and also featured Corangamite federal member Sarah Henderson and City of Greater Geelong deputy mayor Bruce Harwood.<\/p>\n
\u201cGeelong is a great city and we certainly believe that its best days lie ahead of it,\u201d Mr Andrews said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOver the last 100 years, Geelong has been at the centre of Victoria\u2019s growth and I am committed to seeing it continue to be at the heart of our state for the next 100 years.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cr Harwood said Geelong\u2019s transformation had been spectacular.<\/p>\n
