ON WEDNESDAY November 15 the Men played Stableford in conjunction with the final round of the David Cook Trophy.<\/p>\n
The A Grade winner was David Calvert with 47 points from runner-up Brent Mcdonald who finished with 43 points. The B Grade winner was Les Cooper with 44 points while Christopher Knight finished runner-up with 43. David Cook won C Grade with 44 points from Bruce Harrell on 41 points. John Mooney had 40 points on Wednesday, which added to his previous consistent rounds of 37 and 38 saw John claim the David Cook Trophy by 3 points from Brent McDonald.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, the wild weather resulted in the cancellation of the Women\u2019s Golf Day on Thursday November 16 although the Ladies did enjoy a morning in the clubhouse and lunch to entertain the committee.<\/p>\n
On Saturday November 18, the final rounds of the Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Club Championships took place.<\/p>\n
Congratulations to the 2017 Club Champions Roberta Lockyer and Mark Couzens.<\/p>\n
The Men\u2019s Club Championships was a tight affair, with Mark Couzens claiming the championship by a single stroke over runnerup Nigel Powers. After establishing a large lead after round one Roberta claimed the Women\u2019s Championship by for strokes from Prue Moodie.<\/p>\n
In the daily event the Men\u2019s A Grade winner was David Goldsmith with net 71, from runner-up Sandy Talbot on net 72.<\/p>\n
The B Grade winner was Geoff Lewtas with net 65 from runner-up Tom Leeds who had 71. Don Parry won C Grade with net 73 on a countback from runner-up John Etherington also with net 73.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, a team from Anglesea travelled to Buninyong for the Annual Challenge Match. Despite having a very enjoyable day, the Anglesea team was unable to bring home the trophy. Thanks to all who took part, while we look forward to reclaiming the trophy on home soil next year.<\/p>\n
A reminder that this Sunday\u2019s competition is a noon shotgun start, following the AGM at 10am.<\/p>\n
