{"id":4383,"date":"2017-12-07T17:39:32","date_gmt":"2017-12-07T06:39:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=4383"},"modified":"2018-01-30T18:39:17","modified_gmt":"2018-01-30T07:39:17","slug":"soul-season-ends-sun-smiles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/sport\/soul-season-ends-sun-smiles\/","title":{"rendered":"SOUL season ends with sun and smiles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a week of fickle weather we were blessed with sun and surf for the last Southern Ocean Union of Longboarding (SOUL) competition of 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The final competition for the year was held at Boings beach break along 13th Beach Road, which has long been one of SOUL\u2019s favourite locations when the conditions are favourable for longboard surfing.<\/p>\n<p>As the sun rose, the car park was quickly occupied and the smell of bacon and eggs filled the air. A bit of slip, slop, slap and we were underway with the promise of a cracker of a day.<\/p>\n<p>The morning incoming tide set us up with semi clean one to three foot waves. A little bit of Easterly swell produced left and right peaks, offering something for everyone to surf at their best.<\/p>\n<p>Once again our frothing groms put on a magnificent display. Parents were in the water with the micro groms, offering a bit of a push to get them up and riding the waves.<\/p>\n<p>We couldn\u2019t have scripted a better way to round out what has been another great year for the club.<\/p>\n<p>The SOUL club has a great family environment, encouraging and welcoming individuals and families at any level to Longboard surfing.
