CUP Day is over again for another year and what a day it was for the club.<\/p>\n
By the time the big race came on there were upward of 200 revellers making the most of a brilliantly arranged and catered event.<\/p>\n
This signals the start of the \u201csilly season\u201d for the town, with activity building towards Christmas parties and by the way the Cup Day frivolities unfolded there wouldn\u2019t be a better spot to hold your work break-up or pre-Christmas get-together than with a game of barefoot bowls and the services of the Greens Bistro and Bar.<\/p>\n
The club is now taking bookings for these packages and they are filling fast. Just call the club and find out what we can offer.<\/p>\n
And on the subject of the Greens Bistro, head chef Mark Furborough and his offsiders, Richard Morgan and Glen O\u2019Shannessy are setting up amazing menu and snack offerings for the season.<\/p>\n
Some more good news is that from December 18, the Greens Bistro will be open seven days for lunches and dinners, with the exception of Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The other big event on the horizon is New Year\u2019s Eve, with a special dinner and dancing offer being organised. It will be a set-menu meal before entertainment by the highly popular Cool Change, a Little River Band, cover group which has become a fixture for this event.<\/p>\n

On the greens, Saturday pennant bowls across Victoria had the day off last weekend due to the Victoria Open titles, with the majority of our teams in the top four or knocking on the door in the run up to Christmas.<\/p>\n
After the completion of six rounds, the Division 1 side held fourth place, Division 2 10th, Division 4 third, Division 6 seventh, Division 8 fifth, Division 9 fourth and Division 11 was third.<\/p>\n
