THE Rotary Club of Kardinia has been taken aback by the huge interest in its Geelong Gourmet Goodies fundraiser.<\/p>\n

Geelong Gourmet Goodies aims to boost local businesses after a difficult year. The Rotary Club struck up the idea to put together hampers ahead of the festive season, packed full of local products.<\/p>\n

Fundraiser chairman Phil Heath said this was a great opportunity to give a much-needed boost to many businesses out there.<\/p>\n

“Rotary is all about raising funds and spending locally and supporting people in need,” Mr Heath said.<\/p>\n

“We’re looking down the barrel of a significant shortfall this year\u2026 and this was a great idea to provide that shot in the arm.<\/p>\n

“We’re trying to support local business and increase the awareness of their products, because they’re local, it’s important for us to promote them.”<\/p>\n

The hampers come in two different sizes and along with the tasty treats inside, contains a list of all the businesses that contributed to the package.<\/p>\n

The larger option can be purchased for $120 and contains Otway Tiny Rock boiled lollies, Lighthouse extra virgin olive oil, Screaming Seeds mixed spice pack, Wildings spanish onion marmalade, Daryl’s fresh roasted peanut butter, Jennings cold extracted honey, Madeleine’s pear and apple chutney and many others.<\/p>\n

While the $80 hamper includes the same products just without some of the options in the bigger hamper. The Rotary Club of Kardinia was excited to support so many businesses and all proceeds will go towards Rotary projects in the region.<\/p>\n

Orders close on November 30, so be sure to get in quick if you are wishing to purchase one.<\/p>\n
