John Flanagan will bring 70s Americana sounds to the Aussie bush when his small hall tour stops by Bellbrae Hall on Friday night.<\/p>\n
Flanagan\u2019s honest lyricism and timeless melodies have made him incredibly popular with Australian country and roots fans.<\/p>\n
For the small hall tour, he will perform alongside festival favourite Liz Frencham and bluegrass virtuoso Dan Watkins, offering warm vocal harmonies and impressive acoustic arrangements. THE BUSH With a new album, There\u2019s Another Way To Where You\u2019re Going, released just this month, Flanagan said his music holds a strong message.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt ties together stories of the outsiders \u2013 the lonely, the heartbroken and those who aren\u2019t afraid to step aside from the mainstream,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cMoments of sadness intertwine with the uplifting to create an overarching message of acceptance and change.\u201d<\/p>\n
Flanagan will be joined by emerging Melbourne alt-country talent Sal Kimber and her band The Rollin\u2019<\/p>\n
Wheels.<\/p>\n
Kimber\u2019s unique style has captured a strong following and garnered awards including the APRA Darebin Songwriting Award in 2007, the Victorian Female Vocalist of the Year Award at the Victorian and National Country Music Awards in 2010, and the Apra Song of the Year at the Victoria and National Country Music Awards in 2012.<\/p>\n
She has also performed in support of Kasey Chambers and Tim Rogers and been a guest on SBS TV\u2019s Rockwiz.<\/p>\n
John Flanagan and Sal Kimber and the Rollin\u2019 Wheel are performing at Bellbrae Hall, 90 School Road, Bellbrae on Friday February 19 from 7pm.<\/p>\n
