LOCAL makers have the opportunity to showcase their work along with the best of Geelong’s creators.<\/p>\n

Talented designers, creatives and producers from across the region are now invited to submit their work as a part of the CODE Souvenir initiative aiming to boost economic opportunities.<\/p>\n

The initiative will see the City curate a business events, tourism, retail and cooperate gift registry crafted by the community.<\/p>\n

“CODE Souvenir is an exciting initiative to give local makers and producers the chance to put their product forward as an example of the many great things designed here in Geelong,” Mayor Stephanie Asher said.<\/p>\n

Successful candidates will be provided a platform to show their products to different companies as well as visitors who wish to purchase keepsakes from the region.<\/p>\n

The initiative aligns with the UNESCO City of Design’s aim to highlight local talent and boost the economic growth of the creative sector.<\/p>\n

“It will not only reaffirm the City of Greater Geelong’s status as Australia’s only designated UNESCO City of Design, but importantly, will provide another avenue to assist creative industries as we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic,” she said.<\/p>\n

The City is calling for high-quality and thoughtfully designed gifts and souvenirs ranging from practical household items, luxe fashion accessories through to artisan delights.<\/p>\n

“I encourage all local designers, creatives and producers that meet the criteria to get involved” she said.<\/p>\n

“This is a great opportunity to shine a spotlight on the breadth of creative talent that exists right here in Geelong.”<\/p>\n
