As has been the case for so many businesses, this year has provided challenges like no other.<\/p>\n
The Geelong bar is a popular spot for many, whether it\u2019s popping in for a drink over the weekend or their karaoke night throughout the week.<\/p>\n
Venue manager Siobhan Bradley said it was amazing to welcome people through the doors after so long.<\/p>\n
With live music and drinks being poured, the familiar \u2013 albeit socially distanced \u2013 atmosphere was back last week and Ms Bradley was stoked.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was fantastic, everyone was just happy to be here, happy to see the doors open,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt certain times throughout the night, I thought \u2018I can\u2019t believe this is happening\u2019, but at other points it was like nine months hadn\u2019t even happened, we just got straight back into it\u2026 the musos, the bar people, we were just like \u2018gee, we\u2019ve missed this\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo open the big red doors, to have people coming in and having fun again, it was just great.\u201d<\/p>\n
What proved difficult for Beav\u2019s was the fact it does not serve food and relies on having a large numbers of people through the doors to make it work, meaning opening any sooner wasn\u2019t feasible. Nonetheless, existing coronavirus restrictions saw the bar welcome more than 100 people through the doors on its reopening night, with Ms Bradley asking all patrons to abide by the necessary protocols.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s same same, but different,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe just have to do the right thing so it doesn\u2019t happen again, we\u2019ll get there.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe just ask that everyone complies with the rules so we can keep providing those good nights.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Bradley said all the usual nights throughout the week would be returning.<\/p>\n
