All lawns were perfectly presented considering the rainfall in the days leading up to judgement day,\u201d JJGGG\u2019s Andrew Flitton said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr Turf said he was going to be lenient considering the conditions but when it came down to it, the standard was so high there was no room for error.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Ride the Wave bus ride was entertaining, driving around to the 12 lawns while dodging rain storms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 2017 JJJGG award winners are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Best Large Lawn \u2013 Martin Reid<\/li>\n<li>Best Small Lawn \u2013 Mike Di Sciascio<\/li>\n<li>Best Combo Lawn \u2013 Nichol Wylie<\/li>\n<li>Best Presented Lawn \u2013 Ross Dennett<\/li>\n<li>Most Improved \u2013 Greg Peele<\/li>\n<li>NAGGA \u2013 Ben Day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The event also raised $1,025 for Spring Creek Community House.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe now have a great format for raising money if anyone would like to start their own Grass Growers Guild with a dozen mates \u2013 we can help them out with all the logistics,\u201d Mr Flitton said.<\/p>\n<p>For pictures from Sunday\u2019s judging, head to @jan_juc_grass_growers on Instagram.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JUDGEMENT day has come for the Jan Juc Grass Growers Guild (JJGGG) this year, with awards presented for the best lawns on the Surf Coast.
