EMERGENCY services have rescued two sailors after they fell overboard off the coast of Torquay this afternoon.<\/p>\n

Police, water police, ambulance and State Emergency Services from the Torquay Unit responded to the call for help from the overturned vessel about a kilometre off Whites Beach just before 2pm.<\/p>\n

An SES spokesperson said the two sailors were unable to right their vessel – which later washed ashore – or get back aboard.<\/p>\n

The Lifesaving Victoria rescue helicopter winched one of the sailors from the water, and both were returned safely to shore by 2.38pm.<\/p>\n

Paramedics assessed the two sailors at the scene but did not need to transport them to hospital.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
