{"id":48314,"date":"2021-01-20T12:10:35","date_gmt":"2021-01-20T02:10:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=48314"},"modified":"2021-01-20T12:22:11","modified_gmt":"2021-01-20T02:22:11","slug":"workers-hut-to-showcase-emerging-surf-coast-artists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/workers-hut-to-showcase-emerging-surf-coast-artists\/","title":{"rendered":"Worker&#8217;s Hut to showcase emerging Surf Coast artists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Worker\u2019s Hut will showcase five emerging female artists\u2019 work as part of its on-going support of Surf Coast creatives.<\/p>\n<p>On January 23 the Worker\u2019s Hut will be launching an exhibition and market that aims to put a spotlight on the \u201cimmensely talented creative community.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 194px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/01\/MARCHBrittanyHumpb_87094.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"194\" height=\"275\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Brittany March.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Featuring the works of five Surf Coast based artists, the inspiration from each piece will be drawn from the natural world.<\/p>\n<p>Artists, Amelia Anderson, Katey Shearer, Brittany March, Lucy Burke and Sophie Brian will use photography, illustration and printmaking to capture their audiences and forge artistic connections with nature.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors will be able to take home with them the unique pieces while supporting local artists.<\/p>\n<p>Co-founder of the Worker\u2019s Hut Rebecca Scott said she is thrilled to be able to offer the space to showcase the work of local artists.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe breadth of creative talent on the Surf Coast is exceptional,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>To help launch the exhibition, The Worker\u2019s Hut will host a one-day only market featuring pieces from additional creatives across the Surf Coast regions.<\/p>\n<p>The four-year-old co-working space was built by Rebecca and David Scott to help give artists and small business a place to create.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/01\/ANDERSONAmeliaBlac_61295.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"266\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Amelia Anderson.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cOver the past 4 years, we have watched our members and their businesses grow and evolve,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe collective experience, knowledge and expertise in our membership is exceptional and it is fantastic to see that shared so openly in the spirit of helping each other and lifting one another up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition and market comes as The Worker\u2019s Hut welcomes their second co-working space, Hut 2.0.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new space offers creative businesses access to co-warehousing, a photography studio, sound-proofed recording booth, meeting rooms, as well as a choice between private offices and coworking desk space,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are so excited to be opening Hut 2.0 and offering a space that is purposely built to meet the needs of small Surf Coast based creative businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To check out the exhibition head to 17-19 Baines Crescent between 10am-3pm on Saturday 23, Sunday 24 and Tuesday 26.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Worker\u2019s Hut will showcase five emerging female artists\u2019 work as part of its on-going support of Surf Coast creatives.
