THE GCA season wrapped up at the weekend, with Torquay\u2019s One Day South (100) side among those to taste premiership glory.<\/p>\n

St Joseph\u2019s had the home ground advantage at Carey Oval, won the toss and elected to bat.<\/p>\n

Simon Farrell carried his bat but his 85 was a lone hand for the Joeys with the exception of fellow opener Shaun Cannon (26) as St Joseph\u2019s were all out for 157 with only two balls left in their 40 overs. Michael Armstrong was the best of Torquay\u2019s bowlers, taking 4\/23.<\/p>\n

The Tigers started strongly in their run chase, openers David Hando (74) – who was later judged man of the match – and Ryan Hoy (36) knocking over most of the target in an 110-run opening stand, and Matthew Oughtred and Luke Adams getting most of the rest.<\/p>\n

In other GCA<\/a> grand final results, East Belmont fell well short of North Geelong\u2019s 224 in Division 1 1sts, Bell Post Hill defeated Geelong City in Division 2 1sts, and Corio was bundled out for 115 but bowled and fielded ferociously to dismiss St Albans Breakwater for just 92 in Division 3 1sts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
