{"id":50931,"date":"2021-04-15T00:39:44","date_gmt":"2021-04-14T13:39:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=50931"},"modified":"2021-04-15T00:39:44","modified_gmt":"2021-04-14T13:39:44","slug":"final-the-dance-video-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/final-the-dance-video-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"Final \u201cThe  Dance\u201d video launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HUMANS in Geelong has completed and released its \u201cThe Dance\u201d music video community project.<\/p>\n<p>The group started \u201cThe Dance\u201d to showcase beautiful region, creative individuals and community groups who are making a difference.<\/p>\n<p>The final video features 60 clips matched by volunteer videographer Hadeel Hani.<\/p>\n<p>Humans in Geelong held a contest to find an upbeat, original song to be the video\u2019s soundtrack after their original choice of I\u2019ll Make You Happy by the Divinyls proved impossible to get, and Andrea Robertson won with her tune Dance the Blues Away from the 2019 album <em>Live at New Hall<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-38501 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2021\/04\/Untitled-design-24-1-1024x538.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"336\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Humans in Geelong has thanked all the participants in \u201cThe Dance\u201d (a full list in order of appearance is on their website), which include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>City of Greater Geelong councillor and Geelong Racing Club president Peter Murrihy dancing on the Geelong Racecourse track, representing The Man Walk<\/li>\n<li>Peace of Mind Foundation Women\u2019s Retreat dancing the Nutbush at The Barrabool Maze<\/li>\n<li>The Orange Sky Laundry van, which washes the clothes of the homeless<\/li>\n<li>Extinction Rebellion and Red Rebels \u2018DiscObedience\u2019 outside Geelong\u2019s City Hall<\/li>\n<li>The 12 Deakin medical students in \u201cCrossin the Bor\u201d who rode bikes across the Nullarbor in 16 days to raise funds for The Black Dog Institute and raise awareness of mental health issues<\/li>\n<li>Steve Beatty of We All Rotate dancing with women in their traditional dress in Nepal, and<\/li>\n<li>A friend in Dublin dancing with a leprechaun.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThe Dance\u201d was launched in front of a sold-out crowd at the Geelong Library and Heritage Centre in late March as part of Geelong Design Week 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Humans in Geelong are a team of volunteers who tell the positive stories of inspiring locals who are making a difference.
