Plus the kids love cooking, and I love teaching the kids.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s an essential part of their learning. It is a life skill, it\u2019s probably more important than knowing how to spell something, in a way &#8211; at least if you\u2019ve got food, you can live!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it teaches them to be resourceful, and to use what you\u2019ve got.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo grow something and cook it, it\u2019s beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TORQUAY College loves its volunteers, and is hoping a few more pop up to help out with its successful Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program.
