SURFING Victoria has confirmed a new date for the Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles to be held at Bells Beach.<\/p>\n

Presented by Rip Curl and Headsox, the annual event on Wadawurrung Country will hold its 2021 edition from September 10-13.<\/p>\n

The original date of May 28-30 was postponed due to the COVID-19 circuit breaker lockdowns in Victoria that were implemented in the week of the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are looking forward to welcoming everyone back on to Wadawurrung Country in September to continue the tradition of this incredible event,\u201d Surfing Victoria chief Adam Robertson said.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u201cThe event are a true gathering of First Nations cultures from across the country and we can\u2019t wait to hold the event again.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles, in its ninth year at the culturally significant location at Bells Beach, is one of the true gatherings of First Nations surfers from across the country.<\/p>\n

It will feature divisions including Open Men and Women, Junior Men and Women (under 18), Masters (over 35), Elders (over 50) and Longboard.<\/p>\n

Surfing Victoria says the event will be held under strict COVID-19 restrictions including sanitization of all rash vests after every heat, QR code check-in for all people in the event zone, and requesting that competitors arrive 20 minutes before their heat begins and leave the competition site no more than 40 minutes once they have finished their heat.<\/p>\n
