{"id":56620,"date":"2021-08-13T04:15:48","date_gmt":"2021-08-12T18:15:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=56620"},"modified":"2021-08-11T10:39:16","modified_gmt":"2021-08-11T00:39:16","slug":"shire-covid-events-rescheduled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/shire-covid-events-rescheduled\/","title":{"rendered":"COVIDSafe events workshop rescheduled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Surf Coast Shire has pushed back a workshop scheduled for today (Thursday, August 12) on how to best run events in a COVIDSafe way, but will still hold a short online event today.<\/p>\n<p>The Surf Coast Shire Events team originally aimed to hold the free \u201cPlanning a COVIDSafe Event\u201d information workshop designed to assist Surf Coast event organisers navigate the new world of delivering COVIDSafe events at Wurdi Baierr Stadium in Torquay North this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>The start of Victoria\u2019s sixth COVID-19 lockdown forced the event to be postponed.<\/p>\n<p>Although regional Victoria is now out of lockdown, Surf Coast Events is still uncertain about what this means for indoor gatherings, so it will postpone the planned workshop but run a shorter online session to address any pressing questions or issues anyone might have.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, email <strong>kpatterson@surfcoast.vic.gov.au<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A new date is yet to be locked in for the full session, which will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide advice in relation to all the government guidelines and requirements under the Public Events Framework<\/li>\n<li>Answer key questions and consider how Surf Coast Events can address the biggest challenges<\/li>\n<li>Provide COVIDSafe event management checklists and templates to help get events up and running, and<\/li>\n<li>Outline the COVIDSafe equipment available to borrow from the council.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The session will be facilitated by Chris Burton, a highly experienced and respected event organiser who has helped deliver the Falls Festival in Lorne for the past 13 years.<\/p>\n<p>It will feature local event organiser John Jacoby talking about how he and his team have been able to deliver some amazing events in the most challenging and complex circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, email Lynne Hume at <strong>lhume@surfcoast.vic.gov.au<\/strong> or head to the Surf Coast Events website.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Surf Coast Shire has pushed back a workshop scheduled for today (Thursday, August 12) on how to best run events in a COVIDSafe way, but will still hold a short online event today.
