<\/p>\nA SUPERB third quarter saw the Modewarre Warriors run away with today\u2019s Qualifying Final against Barwon Heads Seagulls at Portarlington Reserve.<\/p>\n
The result sets up a blockbuster semi-final match next weekend between two of top BFNL sides.<\/p>\n
Modewarre came out of the blocks hot to start the contest, kicking three early goals in the first six minutes, with the wind slightly in their favour.<\/p>\n
Not for lack of trying, the Seagulls struggled to hit their first major.<\/p>\n
It took three-straight behinds for the Seagulls to slot their first goal late in the first term, putting the scores at 19 to 15, in favour of the Warriors.<\/p>\n

The second quarter started with both sides trading goals, as the game remained tight heading into half-time with just a couple of kicks between the two outfits.<\/p>\n
Continuous pressure from Modewarre\u2019s midfield wall kept the ball in their half for most of third quarter, but Barwon Heads maintained their composure limiting the Warriors to just four points throughout the first 15 minutes of the third term.<\/p>\n
Hornsey was the hero for Modewarre, rewarding his side for their hard work to kick off the second half with his fourth goal, putting the Warriors up by 20.<\/p>\n
Jacob Clark compounded worries for the Seagulls kicking his first almost immediately after. Angus Hill and Thomas Worpel followed suit putting themselves on the scoring list for the Warriors.<\/p>\n
Four out of four goals scored in the third quarter went to Modewarre creating an almost insurmountable lead by the final break, with the Warriors up by 39 points.<\/p>\n
Barwon Heads found the middle posts early in fourth after Mitchell Phelps snapped one through with the left for the Seagulls\u2019 first goal of the second half. He then struck again five minutes later.<\/p>\n
It was of little importance however, as the damage done by Modewarre through the first three terms was enough to get them over the line.<\/p>\n

The Warriors ran away with the final score winning comfortably by four goals.<\/p>\n
Modewarre now look forward to the biggest challenge yet this season against Torquay next week.<\/p>\n
The winner will earn their spot in this year\u2019s BFNL Grand Final.<\/p>\n
The Gulls will face the winner of tomorrow\u2019s Elimination Final between Ocean Grove and Anglesea.<\/p>\n
