ARMSTRONG Creek School\u2019s staff members have been recognised for their excellence in demonstrating quality teaching and learning and delivering outstanding system improvements.<\/p>\n
The primary school is a finalist in the 2021 Victorian Education Excellence Awards, which recognise outstanding school professionals working in Victorian government schools.<\/p>\n
Shortlisted as one of just three schools in the Outstanding Inclusive Education category, Armstrong Creek School has been recognised for its \u201cexceptional staff\u201d.<\/p>\n
The nomination says that as one of Victoria\u2019s first Supported Inclusion Schools, Armstrong Creek was established with a genuine commitment to supporting all learners and meet the diverse learning, social and behavioural needs of students, including a high proportion of learners with additional needs.<\/p>\n
\u201cTogether with a contemporary and highly adaptable learning environment, the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support Framework, School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support and Professional Learning Communities, the school has developed a purposeful and widely understood instructional model to positively impact learning outcomes for every student,\u201d the award nomination explains.<\/p>\n
Principal Evan Savage says the school is very proud of being named a finalist in the statewide award.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince its inception, Armstrong Creek School has set out to re-imagine the way we teach to ensure all children, regardless of ability, disability or circumstance, have access to high quality, personalised learning,\u201d Mr Savage said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe school\u2019s programs, resources and expertise prepare students to pursue their chosen pathways, interests and aspirations by supporting them to develop the skills and knowledge that will enable them to achieve the highest levels of success possible.<\/p>\n
\u201cSchool-based assessments as well as NAPLAN results demonstrate rapid growth and improvement for all of our students, particularly in reading
\nand writing.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis nomination is recognition of the many culminating forces which have contributed to our success.<\/p>\n

Award winners will be announced during a live-streamed online presentation ceremony on October 22.<\/p>\n
