The elements of earth, air, fire and water and how we interact with them will be the subject of one of this year\u2019s International Women\u2019s Day celebrations in the region.<\/p>\n
The Surf Coast Shire event in Anglesea will include speeches from four women whose stories entwine with these elements.<\/p>\n
They include: Wadawurrung woman and Jan Juc resident Corrina O\u2019Toole, who will speak on the theme of water on the theme of air Otway Landcare Groups secretary Jill Stewart, who speak on the theme of earth, and Nationally-recognised emergency recovery expert Anne Leadbeater OAM, who will speak Surf Coast mayor Rose Hodge said the event would cover women\u2019s leadership in a range of important topics.<\/p>\n
\u201cEach year, council works to celebrate and bring into focus the variety of contributions women make in our community as part of International Women\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n
Other International Women\u2019s Day events include Spring Creek Community House holding a multicultural morning tea from 10am to noon on March 8.<\/p>\n
The event is open to all and attendees are encouraged to wear the International Women\u2019s Day colours of purple, white and green and bring a favourite sweet or savoury national dish that represents their cultural heritage.<\/p>\n
