It has undoubtedly been a busy time for the EPIC Health clinics in Marketplace and Wallington Road, Ocean Grove.<\/p>\n
As the health of our local community is EPIC Health’s key mission, the team has also grown to meet the demands as they welcome new team member, Dr Thomas Souchen.<\/p>\n
Originally from Canada with a background as a biomedical engineer, Dr Tom moved to Australia 10 years ago to pursue his career in medicine.<\/p>\n
He spent four years in Queensland, and when he met his partner who was from East Gippsland, completed his training throughout Gippsland and the Mornington Peninsula.<\/p>\n
Now a Fellowed GP, Dr Tom is involved in all aspects of general medical practice.<\/p>\n
Recently, Tom, his partner and their two-year-old daughter moved to Ocean Grove.<\/p>\n
“It’s a wonderful community to raise a family,” he said.<\/p>\n
“We’ve bought a house and hope to be a part of this community for a very long time.”<\/p>\n
Dr Tom is passionate about taking care of the community he lives in, which is how his move to EPIC Health came about.<\/p>\n
Along with general medical practice, Tom has an interest in urgent care and is involved in after-hours urgent care treatment at Western Health once a week and three nights a week at Marketplace.<\/p>\n
He treats all ages and areas with special interest in chronic disease management, paediatrics, sports injuries and mental health.<\/p>\n
He has also been involved in the COVID response testing and vaccination clinic in Wallington Road.<\/p>\n
Of the team at EPIC Health, Tom says “they’re a lovely group of people to be working with”.<\/p>\n
Outside of work, you might find Tom honing his surfing skills, fishing or playing golf.<\/p>\n
“It’s been a challenging time to move somewhere new. Thankfully, we have made some new friends through my wife’s mother’s group,” he said.<\/p>\n
But knowing what he does of Ocean Grove so far, he feels they will love being a part of the community.<\/p>\n
Tom joins a team of caring and understanding doctors who are dedicated to health promotion and treating your medical needs.<\/p>\n
