PUPILS at Armstrong Creek School will be looking the part on their first day next month in their new uniforms designed to represent the local area and mirror its natural landscape.<\/p>\n
School principal Evan Savage said the new uniforms will help to shape a strong school identity.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe engaged a school reference group and consulted on colour and identity to end up with a very good look for the school. Armstrong Creek students will stand out in the community.\u201d<\/p>\n
The blue uniforms with hints of bright orange, blend and complement the school\u2019s earthy palette. The dress is plaid light blue with an orange collar and sleeve band, while T-shirts, jumpers and jackets are navy with orange bands.<\/p>\n
The summer and winter collection supplied by PSW is contemporary in style and clearly identifies the school from others in the area. Like the blue of the ocean, the school\u2019s learning groups have also been named after local surf breaks.<\/p>\n
The uniform logo is a symbol of opportunity, innovation and academic excellence in education. Formed by lines that are interwoven into a continuous circular pattern, the logo represents the longevity and progressive growth of the school community.<\/p>\n
Mr Savage said each line is symbolic of a student\u2019s journey from school into the broader community, each following their own individual path to achieve their personal goals.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe vibrant colour, coupled with the radiating motion of the lines captures the aspirational learning environment we aim to create, a place where students feel inspired to learn, grow and thrive.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the core of the logo is an open centre, symbolic of Armstrong Creek School placing students at the centre of the school as \u2018The Heart of Opportunity\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
Armstrong Creek School will open for its prep to grade 6 pupils on February 1, while the year 7 to 12 special school students will start in 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
