{"id":64237,"date":"2022-02-14T04:00:20","date_gmt":"2022-02-13T17:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=64237"},"modified":"2022-02-08T15:45:14","modified_gmt":"2022-02-08T04:45:14","slug":"disability-site-nears-milestone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/disability-site-nears-milestone\/","title":{"rendered":"Disability site nears milestone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>INTEREST is continuing to grow for places in a purpose-built disability accommodation facility in Geelong that is set to be finished this year.<\/p>\n<p>Emerge Living hosted an open day at its Highton Green development on the weekend, where interested people, families and carers toured the site that will soon include 12 specialist disability accommodation (SDA) apartments.<\/p>\n<p>Guests received golf buggy tours of the precinct and its green spaces, while also inspecting building interiors at completed Highton Green townhouses.<\/p>\n<p>Emerge also shared a project update on the day as it approaches a significant milestone; apartment frames are set to begin next month after already installing services and basements, as the project is on track for an end-of-year finish.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a combination of interested people and for those who have already been accepted and that\u2019s going to be their homes, to get more detailed understanding and really visualise and see the development come to life,\u201d Emerge Living general manager Mark Hudson said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe did that through talking about all the specific designs and features, and also the area as well, in terms of proximity to public transport and retail amenities, and really showcasing the green space that it sits in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe feedback was really positive from those that attended, both in terms of the event but also doing a tour of one of the townhouses, to see the quality of the build and the finishes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Emerge Living is working with disability services provider genU on the SDA project, to ensure the homes meet requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Applications are still open for places in one of the 12 SDA apartments \u2013 contact Emerge Living for more information.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-64249 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/Embedded-web-14.png?_t=1644295450\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/Embedded-web-14.png 600w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/Embedded-web-14-300x190.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>INTEREST is continuing to grow for places in a purpose-built disability accommodation facility in Geelong that is set to be finished this year.
