Sarah could see her future mapped out before her as part of this big company \u2013 this would be a lucrative future, but one in which life would be 12-hour days, time away from home, and a high-stress environment. None of which were appealing based on the way Sarah wanted to live her life.<\/p>\n
Instead of continuing in that way, Sarah decided to jump ship and take a break from work to give her time and head space to think about what was next.<\/p>\n
It was a big move to make, especially given she had no specific idea in mind just an inkling that there was something better out there.<\/p>\n
Sarah identified a gap in the Australian market for top-level, accessible aesthetic services.<\/p>\n
Sarah is now founder and managing director of Unique Laser Clinics, of which there are now five clinics in and around Geelong and the Surf Coast.<\/p>\n
It is a multi award-winning business, that has a vision to give people the freedom to embrace their uniqueness and shed their inhibitions through delivering high end aesthetic services in a positive and respectful environment.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy real motivation for the change was wanting to empower other people, women in particular, to take their lives and their futures in their own hands,\u201d Sarah said.<\/p>\n

Melinda Fusella is a great example of this. She started as a manager at the Ballarat clinic and now co-owns the Torquay clinic with Sarah and has been promoted to Group Area Manager which combines working from home and in-clinic visits.<\/p>\n
Sarah lives on the Surf Coast, has a thriving home garden, and has embraced her passion for horse riding.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat I love about owning my own business is I can set my own schedule,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a huge amount of work and it can be hard to take a day off, but I don\u2019t have to work 9-5. I might get up and go for a horse ride, come home and work for a few hours, then take my dog for a walk in the evening.\u201d<\/p>\n
Unique Laser has grown in leaps and bounds since its beginnings back in 2014.<\/p>\n
Initially focused on laser hair removal, the business has now evolved to also building expertise in advanced skin and body treatments.<\/p>\n
