COMMERCE Torquay is bringing back its popular series of business breakfasts, with the next to be held at Bomboras next week.<\/p>\n
The free event is being hosted by regional law firm Coulter Legal, and local business owners have been invited along to say hello to 2022 with coffee, breakfast and networking.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s coming back into the networking that we\u2019ve always known,\u201d Commerce Torquay board member Les Watson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve always done networking and it\u2019s an opportunity for us to come back into it – big thanks to Coulter Legal, because it takes it takes a village to make these sorts of things happen.<\/p>\n
\u201cWithout people putting events on, no-one can get together.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut the big thing out of events like this is people get to do business with one another, people get to catch up with old friends, old colleagues, old prospects, old customers, and some young customers as well.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo let\u2019s get back together, let\u2019s get on with it and close the door on what was and move into what we can do.\u201d<\/p>\n
Summer is officially over, and Mr Watson said for some traders in the region, it would be like \u201ccoming out of hibernation\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome people are wanting to, some people aren\u2019t; some people are going \u2018ye\u2019’, some people are going \u2018no\u2019. It\u2019s like two steps forward, one step back.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut for a lot of people, they\u2019re putting their doors wide open going \u2018Let\u2019s go, we can we can do this\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
COVID-19 restrictions have eased considerably since the start of 2022, and Mr Watson said this was a further boost to customer confidence.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s nice to see everyone\u2019s faces apart from masks, and that sort of thing, and not having to QR code in.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was another barrier for people \u2013 \u2018I don\u2019t want to, I really need to just have the freedom I used to have\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Commerce Torquay breakfast will be held at Bomboras, 37 The Esplanade, Torquay, on Thursday, March 17, from 7.30am.<\/p>\n
