{"id":66065,"date":"2022-03-30T04:00:17","date_gmt":"2022-03-29T17:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=66065"},"modified":"2022-03-22T21:18:44","modified_gmt":"2022-03-22T10:18:44","slug":"australias-first-ever-acoustic-music-festival-will-be-held-in-ocean-grove","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/australias-first-ever-acoustic-music-festival-will-be-held-in-ocean-grove\/","title":{"rendered":"Australia\u2019s first-ever Acoustic Music Festival will be held in Ocean Grove."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OCEAN Grove is about to become home to Australia\u2019s first acoustic music festival.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, April 9, Australia\u2019s first-ever Acoustic Music Festival will come to the Ocean Grove Pavillion.<\/p>\n<p>The festival will be free entry to all, made possible as part of the City of Greater Geelong\u2019s Surround Sound series running between March and April.<\/p>\n<p>The festival\u2019s artistic director Jon Mamonski, who has over 20 years\u2019 experience organising music festivals and music events, said the festival would be the perfect way to celebrate local talent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Ocean Grove Acoustic Festival is for everyone who loves acoustic music and who want to support live performances of local artists,\u201d Mr Mamonski said<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur region has some of the finest artists in the nation and we\u2019ve been waiting a long time to see them perform.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_66439\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-66439\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-66439 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/Untitled-design-1-5-600x320.png?_t=1647938764\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"320\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-66439\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Local singer-songwriter Isabella Khalife is expected at the festival, along with her loop pedal, guitar and stand-out vocals.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mr Mamonski said as a first-class concert stage, The Pavilion in Ocean Grove Park would be the perfect setting for this free concert.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Pavilion\u2019s superb concert stage will bring remarkable acoustic talent from across the region including Famous Will Band, Isabella Khalife, Peter Paul and Marion, Finnigan August, The Fillmores and Von Robertsons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Local artists turned national favourite, Famous Will, brings the folky\/country feel that has taken him on tours around Australia back to his home town to play at the festival.<\/p>\n<p>Young local talent Finnigan August, based on the Surf Coast, is comfortable on stage at just 15 years old, with his festival appearances including, the main stage at The Lost Lands, Queenscliff Music Festival, 2 Worlds Festival, Happy Wanderer Festival and Bendigo Blues &amp; Roots Festival.<\/p>\n<p>Finn has also shared the stage with the likes of Ash Grunwald and Bec Goring.<\/p>\n<p>Renowned folk quartet Peter Paul and Marion, which began as a high school project and continues many years later, will also be playing at the festival.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_66440\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-66440\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-66440 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/Untitled-design-3-3-600x320.png?_t=1647939005\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"320\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-66440\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The &#8216;Peter Paul and Mary&#8217;
