{"id":67487,"date":"2022-04-14T04:30:46","date_gmt":"2022-04-13T18:30:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=67487"},"modified":"2022-04-14T15:38:57","modified_gmt":"2022-04-14T05:38:57","slug":"rojo-straps-in-for-busy-easter-sale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/rojo-straps-in-for-busy-easter-sale\/","title":{"rendered":"Rojo gears up for busy Easter sale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WHEN avid skiers Jo Buckle and Roe Clapham started Rojo 35 years ago with $100 between them, there were no female brands in snow sports, so the pair decided to change that.<\/p>\n<p>Fast-forward three decades and the Torquay outerwear brand is preparing for what will be one of the most anticipated snow seasons in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been serving the community for a long time now and as a close-knit family experience talks a lot,\u201d co-founder and head of design Ms Buckle said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 605px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/IMG_0382_34722.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"605\" height=\"404\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Other inventory will have prices slashed by up to 40 per cent.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Expanding from the company\u2019s initial handmade headbands, the Rojo brand has grown into a fully operational company designed by women for women, specialising in custom, handcrafted artwork, designing prints in-house and collaborating with like-minded female artists from around the world.<\/p>\n<p>The organisation is part of a dwindling group of family businesses on the Surf Coast, with Rojo primarily run by Jo\u2019s husband David Salveson (CEO), Ms Buckle herself and daughter Jassie Salveson (marketing and sales) and their team of dedicated staff members.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 542px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/IMG_0378_46729.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"542\" height=\"362\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Snowboards will be 30 per cent off during this weekend&#8217;s Easter sale.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Over the past two years, operations have been more difficult than usual for Rojo, which has meant rolling down the shutters and doubling-down on what is important to the company.<\/p>\n<p>However, the team is still here and is preparing for its busy Easter sale.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe haven\u2019t been able to hold this sale for two years, so this time around is really exciting,\u201d Ms Salveson said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe sale has expanded from what it has been in the past, we have hardware such as bindings and snowboard and software like boots and gloves on sale over the weekend.
