{"id":67507,"date":"2022-04-18T04:00:29","date_gmt":"2022-04-17T18:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=67507"},"modified":"2022-04-12T19:11:02","modified_gmt":"2022-04-12T09:11:02","slug":"great-ocean-road-to-feature-in-great-vic-bike-ride","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/great-ocean-road-to-feature-in-great-vic-bike-ride\/","title":{"rendered":"Great Ocean Road to feature in Great Vic Bike Ride"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Great Ocean Road will feature in Victoria\u2019s biggest bike ride this year along with volcanic craters, Otway rainforests, and townships in the Golden Plains.<\/p>\n<p>The Bicycle Network announced this year\u2019s route for the Great Vic Bike Ride, which is returning after three years of cancellations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis will be an iconic Great Vic with riders enjoying the best parts of Western Victoria, charming host towns and incredible scenery,\u201d Bicycle Network\u2019s general manager of events Caitlin Borchers said.<\/p>\n<p>Riders taking part in the Great Victorian Bike Ride from November 26 to December 4 will experience the Great Ocean Road between Apollo Bay and Anglesea with no traffic other than bikes.<\/p>\n<p>Riders will make their way to the Great Ocean Road on November 29 and stay two nights in Apollo Bay before heading to Anglesea where they will spend an additional night before heading to Inverleigh.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe feature day on the 2022 Great Vic is from Apollo Bay to Anglesea when riders will enjoy the rare opportunity to ride without traffic on the Great Ocean Road,\u201d Ms Borchers said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Great Ocean Road is one of the premier bike riding experiences in the world,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 603px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/LittleVicBikeRid_93160.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"603\" height=\"452\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bike riders will spend four days along Victoria&#8217;s south-west coastline.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For the first time ever, the Great Victorian Bike Ride will stop overnight in the Golden Plains town of Inverleigh before finishing in the town of Buninyong.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter three years it will be terrific to hold another Great Vic Bike Ride at the end of 2022,\u201d Ms Borchers said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Great Vic is an incredibly social week and the perfect holiday for people who have missed being a part of an interacting and engaging community, which we\u2019ve all missed over the last two years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Entries to register for the Great Vic Bike Ride open in May with more information found on<br \/>\nwww.greatvic.com.au.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Great Ocean Road will feature in Victoria\u2019s biggest bike ride this year along with volcanic craters, Otway rainforests, and townships in the Golden Plains.
