Photo: PAULINE ROTSAERT<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want all of our events to be community-focused and a topic like this is a great way to bring women together,\u201d Ms Lawler said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith an issue such as breast cancer, it is something I feel everyone is personally affected by and we have had people come to class who have been.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know friends and family who have also been affected, both young and old, it\u2019s one of those things that you can\u2019t really escape from.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The event will feature a live DJ, raffle prizes and a lights show during the workout.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Lawler runs Konga exercise group The Jungle Body with Megan alongside fellow instructors Ellie Gaylard and Kara Cheah.<\/p>\n<p>The team of three has built a large following of women residing in Torquay down to Anglesea and Aireys Inlet, holding weekly classes in all three Surf Coast towns.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 574px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/DSC_9701_86198.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"574\" height=\"383\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Boogie for Boobies will help raise awareness of breast cancer and funds for the McGrath Foundation. Photo: PAULINE ROTSAERT<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Boogie for Boobies takes place two days before Mother\u2019s Day providing perfect timing to address breast cancer awareness, according to Ms Gaylard.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe thought this event taking place just before Mother\u2019s Day is great to remind the mothers out there to look after their bodies, get checked, have fun and contribute to a good cause at the same time,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s all about getting everyone involved for us right now and we are on the lookout for local sponsors to donate raffle prizes as we speak.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A portion of ticket sales and all raffle proceeds will go directly to the McGrath Foundation, with every ticket holder to receive a special \u2018boobie pack\u2019 upon arrival.<\/p>\n<p>Funds will go directly to the foundation\u2019s specialty care nurses to support individuals and their families experiencing breast cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Head to The Jungle Body with Megan\u2019s Facebook page to secure a ticket.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FITNESS enthusiasts across the Surf Coast will sweat it out in an epic evening of exercise and support to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.
