	{"id":67721,"date":"2022-04-16T01:50:09","date_gmt":"2022-04-15T15:50:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=67721"},"modified":"2022-04-15T16:01:18","modified_gmt":"2022-04-15T06:01:18","slug":"taste-of-noosa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/living\/taste-of-noosa\/","title":{"rendered":"Taste of Noosa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was while holidaying in Noosa that the Gilbert family got their first taste of Betty\u2019s Burgers on a sunshine-filled day on Hastings Street.<\/p>\n<p>There was something about the relaxed coastal vibe and the simple but inclusive menu that sparked something in Josh and his father Simon.<\/p>\n<p>They became self-confessed \u201cmega fans\u201d of the popular burger shack and found themselves picturing a Betty\u2019s Burgers being a fitting addition to their hometown of Torquay.<\/p>\n<p>A chance meeting with a member of the Betty\u2019s operations team soon put that dream into motion.<\/p>\n<p>Fast forward to April 2022 and they have just proudly thrown open the doors to their very own Betty\u2019s Burgers on Bristol Road.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are so proud of the entire team getting this restaurant opened and looking so beautiful for our guests, just in time for the school holidays and Easter,\u201d Josh says.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-67724 size-thumbnail aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/Bettys_Burgers_02_85593-600x380.jpg?_t=1650002297\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to offer a new dining experience to the community and we hope Torquay is ready for a little taste of Noosa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBetty\u2019s is a great fit for Torquay, we offer a quality casual dining experience with a strong vibe of Aussie beach culture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Betty\u2019s Burgers first opened its doors in Noosa in 2014 and has become much-loved for its range of burgers, including vegan options, sides such as fries and onion rings, salads, icecreams and a nippers\u2019 menu.<\/p>\n<p>Josh says the Betty\u2019s Classic burger is a perennial menu favourite \u2013 consisting of Angus beef, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, and Betty\u2019s special sauce.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Betty\u2019s Classic is most guests\u2019 go-to but I am a Noosa Classic Surf man \u2013 I like a luxe twist of adding the prawns,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, there are a range of add-ons customers can choose from to personalise their burger such as a \u2018schroom\u2019 pattie, smashed avo, egg or pickles, gluten free bun and more.<\/p>\n<p>Coastal energy is at the heart of the design of each restaurant, with the aim of creating that satisfying sense you are on holidays seven days a week.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_67722\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-67722\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-67722\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/BETTYS_TORQUAY_OPEN_69706.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-67722\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The new Betty&#8217;s Burgers in Bristol Road, Torquay, captures the relaxed Aussie beach culture and is already proving popular after openings its doors last week. Photos: ANNIKA KAFCALOUDIS<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Josh says a great deal of effort has gone into getting the ambience of the Torquay \u201cshack\u201d just right, ensuring guests enjoy dining with them whether it\u2019s for a date night, family celebration or a simple catch-up with a bestie.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Betty\u2019s experience includes a simplistic but inclusive menu that allows all of our guests to feel they have the option of choice, no matter what their personal dining preferences are,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe team at Betty\u2019s gives great attention to our sourcing of the freshest, local products available and every single burger is made to order, no short cuts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He says the aim is to ensure every experience with Betty\u2019s is a memorable one.<\/p>\n<p>The Torquay restaurant has about 30 team members and is still hiring.<\/p>\n<p>Josh says they are grateful and heartened by how quickly Betty\u2019s has been embraced locally \u2013 with a hectic first day and a few famous faces dropping in to say hello and check out the venue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had a feeling we would be busy based on the amount of people stopping by while we were building but on our first day we were delighted to see the local turn out,\u201d Josh says.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-67730\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/BB_BRAND_IMAGES_192_33660.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe even had Mick Fanning drop by which was epic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Josh, who lives in Torquay with fianc\u00e9e Haylea, is a sports lover who previously worked for the Geelong Football Club.<\/p>\n<p>He says it is important to him that Betty\u2019s contributes to the local community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWater safety is incredibly important to Betty\u2019s Burgers which sponsors numerous lifesaving clubs across Australia,\u201d he explains.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCommunity involvement is going to be a big part of Betty\u2019s Burgers Torquay.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For anyone yet to experience Betty\u2019s Burgers, Josh encourages them call past and try it for themselves.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCome down and have a try, I really know you will love it,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBetty\u2019s hasn\u2019t become popular without being able to make amazing made-to-order, juicy burgers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Betty\u2019s Burgers Torquay is at 41 Bristol Road and opens Sunday to Thursday 11am to 9pm and Friday and Saturday 11am to 10pm.<\/p>\n<p>Check out the menu online at bettysburgers.com.au and follow on Instagram @bettys_burgers<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was while holidaying in Noosa that the Gilbert family got their first taste of Betty\u2019s Burgers on a sunshine-filled day on Hastings Street.
