There has been much to love about being back together in classrooms, out in the yard and enjoying the wonderful resources available at the College.<\/p>\n
Principals Jessica and Emily have commented on the enjoyment that has come with having school-based events again and more simply being able to enjoy what makes us so special, being together.<\/p>\n
Torquay College has had a rich history of community events, partnerships and support.<\/p>\n
With this in mind, the school team looks forward to planning more and more opportunities for connection as the year progresses.<\/p>\n
The Teddy Bears\u2019 Picnic was a highlight of Term One.<\/p>\n
Foundation students and Year 6 Buddies came together, along with their families, to celebrate our annual picnic and parade.<\/p>\n
The students competed for their houses in Cross Country with many progressing through to the District event, all held down at Front Beach.<\/p>\n
Although weather impacted our Year 3-6 House Athletics held on the grounds, it didn\u2019t dampen enthusiasm with the event being held over two days at school.<\/p>\n
Torquay College is passionate about providing engaging learning programs that meet the needs of its students and enable all to succeed as well as drawing on a sense of fun.<\/p>\n
From LOTE-Indonesian teaching to the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation program, teachers engage students in their own educational and emotional learning journey.<\/p>\n
This is done through contemporary inquiry-based learning, which is supported by a highly motivated teaching team and strong ICT, Science, Sustainability, Intervention, Physical Education, Visual and Performing Arts Programs.<\/p>\n
The three College values of Respect, Friendship and Doing Your Best support the College commitment to a whole child approach to education.<\/p>\n
Torquay College believes every child should be happy, healthy, safe, engaged, supported and challenged to grow in their educational environment.<\/p>\n
The College looks forward to welcoming the community for guided tours during Education Week; Tuesday, May 24 and Thursday, May 26 at 9.30am and midday for new families and 2pm on Wednesday, May 25 for current families.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
