A PROPOSED shopping complex for Winchelsea’s west is under planning consideration.<\/p>\n
Surf Coast Shire council displayed plans last week for a new development at 8 Anderson Street that would create eight small retail shops, ranging from 108 square metres to 203 sqm.<\/p>\n
Construction plans also include 46 parking spaces and tree planting on a total site area of 3000sqm, with facade designs combining steel, concrete and timber elements.<\/p>\n
The Anderson Street site currently an empty block opposite established houses and if nearby a Caltex service station and the Winchelsea Golf Club.<\/p>\n
Commercial builder Seabrook Vision proposed to spend $800,000 building the new shopping centre if approved.<\/p>\n
Seabrook is developing the site on behalf of Retail Food Group \u2013 a Queensland-based company that manages a host of Australian food outlets such as Gloria Jean’s Coffee, Brumby’s Bakery, Crust Pizza and Donut King, among other franchises.<\/p>\n
The plan has passed through environmental health, infrastructure and waste management planning and is awaiting sign off from VicRoads and the council before a permit is issued.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
