Event organiser and Southern Ocean Union Longboarders club president Luke Edwards was rapt with the amazing quality of surfing on show by many of Victoria\u2019s eldest statesmen as well as some of the rising stars of the sport.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe conditions and surfing on show was absolutely amazing and we can\u2019t thank everyone enough for being a part of the special event,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo have surfers enter the event from different areas around the state like the Surf Coast, Bellarine, Mornington Peninsula, Phillip Island and even one from South Australia is a real credit to the strong longboard surfing scene that has been built down here.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe now can\u2019t wait for the 2023 competition as the event continues to fill up and become more popular every year it runs.\u201d<\/p>\n
Torquay style master Matthew Lumley was able to complete the double by winning both the Over 45 Old Mal and Men\u2019s Logger division thanks to some signature crisp and effortless surfing.<\/p>\n
The Over 45 Old Mal division was won Grant Price while Sacha Guggenheimer took out the Women\u2019s Logger division.<\/p>\n
The committee now turn their attention to the 2023 Victorian Old Mal and Logger Titles with the hopes the event will attract the star-studded field and amazing conditions that it did this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
