Coote said the open mic nights quickly turned into a spectacular showcase of local talent.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe talent has just been amazing to the point where people are being asked to come back and actually get paid gigs.\u201d
\nShe said everyone was welcome to come along, from children to dogs, but booking a table is recommended as the nights have been full most months.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just a cozy, fun night out.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Bells Beach Brewing owner Adam Smith said the Surf Coast Open Mic nights started as a conversation between friends at the brewery and had grown to exceed all expectations.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve built a real community around the event,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s much more than doing an event at the brewery once a month, it\u2019s become a thing of with a life of its own.\u201d<\/p>\n He said he initially thought the musicians would be first-time performers, but he has been amazed at the level of professionalism and talent.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been a real delight and surprise to us how good it\u2019s been.<\/p>\n \u201cFor Surf Coast musicians there is quite a depth of talent there that otherwise might not have an opportunity to The open mic nights are held at Bells Beach Brewing from 6.30-9.30pm on the third Thursday of each month, with July\u2019s open mic night scheduled for July 21.<\/p>\n Each month there is a donations hat for tipping musicians and all performers are given a free burger and drink.<\/p>\n Future performers can apply via Instagram @surfcoastopen or Facebook @surfcoastopenmic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" SURF Coast musicians are taking the stage with monthly open mic nights hosted at Bells Beach Brewing to showcase local talent.
