THE Surf Coast Relay for Life teams will be on the march tomorrow (Friday) in Torquay.<\/p>\n
Team members dressed in their purple shirts will be out in force as part of the march, which starts at 8.45am and will travel from Torquay\u2019s Gilbert Street and The Esplanade to Point Danger and back.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want everyone to join in to create a colourful spectacle to reinforce our committee\u2019s efforts to \u2018Paint the Town Purple\u2019 until Sunday week,\u201d relay co-chair Magdalena Wheatland said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Surf Coast Shire\u2019s sponsorship has helped us to deck Gilbert Street with flags, signs and decorations to back up displays by local businesses in support of efforts to combat cancer.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are hoping it will all encourage the local community and visitors to take part in our overnight relay on March 16-17 at Polwarth Oval, North Torquay.<\/p>\n
