WORLD qualifying series surfer and Good Human Factory founder Cooper Chapman will share his insights for a healthy mind at a workshop in Torquay thanks to the Bells Beach 50 Year Storm.<\/p>\n

The Good Human Factory inspires people to be aware of and take care of their mental health, and on July 27, Chapman will host a session at Torquay Football Club.<\/p>\n

Presented by the Bells Beach 50 Year Storm, Chapman will cover topics including wellbeing, living with values, self-awareness and how to search for meaning and fulfillment in one\u2019s daily life.<\/p>\n

A professional surfer for more than 10 years, Chapman, who hails from Narrabeen in New South Wales, has a vested interest in mental health which was prompted by his father\u2019s bout with depression and the suicide of two family friends.<\/p>\n

Meditating on a regular basis and practicing mindfulness has helped Cooper manage his anxiety and perform at a high level, whether it\u2019s in the water or out of it while giving a speech.<\/p>\n

The Bells Beach 50 Year Storm committee are thrilled to secure Chapman\u2019s services for the event, hoping that people can take valuable learnings into their daily lives to stay on top of their mental health and wellbeing.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur objective outside of running the surf event is to ensure that we can provide some events for the community to attend, gain knowledge and expertise in understanding how to embrace a greater sense of wellbeing,\u201d event organiser and Bells Beach 50 Year Storm committee member Shaun O\u2019Callaghan said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe strongly believe in the need for local communities to strengthen and not fragment and by engaging with Cooper, we felt that he translates a really positive and uplifting message around how to navigate the challenges that we all face in life.\u201d<\/p>\n

O\u2019Callaghan and the committee believe that the event will further enable people in the community to build greater awareness around what it means to be in a better state of mind.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Good Human Factory\u2019 event will be for people of all ages and is free.<\/p>\n
