(BFL) history to claim a fourth Les Ash Medal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Tigers midfielder tallied 27 to finish six votes clear Sam Baker (Barwon Heads) ad Sam Darley (Geelong Amateur).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt\u2019s definitely a massive honour and I can only pay tribute to the Torquay Football Club,\u201d Darke said after receiving the medal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI\u2019m enjoying playing my footy there which makes it easier for me to execute on Saturdays and I\u2019m looking forward to the challenge that is the style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Darke\u2019s fourth medal puts him on par with Modewarre\u2019s Josh Finch, adding to his collection from seasons 2014, 2016 and 2021.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Darke acknowledged the achievement of matching Finch for a fourth medal, but his mindset is still very much focused on Torquay second qualifying final against Barwon Heads on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI\u2019m trying to remain level and present with what\u2019s sort of going on, but I\u2019m sure I\u2019ll reflect on it once the season is over,\u201d Darke added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhat we\u2019re really focused on is a big game against Barwon Heads this weekend.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt\u2019s no secret that pressure wins finals footy and the ability to stand up under that pressure is what wins games.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThere\u2019s no doubt they\u2019ll look to bring the heat class=\"wp-caption-text\">Darke tallied 27 votes to secure the medal for a fourth time.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As counting began after Round 9, Darke had a three-vote lead over Drysdale favourite Ben Fennell.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But Darke secured the vote count with back-to-back best-on-ground performances to conclude the season.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAs a team this season it has been unreal, but individually I\u2019ve just tried to remain consistent as I\u2019ve gotten a bit older,\u201d Darke said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSo, that\u2019s been what I\u2019ve focused on, and I feel like I\u2019ve done that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-76316 style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Darke was joined by Paul McMahon Ben McNamara, Billy Henderson, seniors rookie Michael Croxford and Sheldon Ham.
