CRIME Stoppers Victoria (CSV) has named another 10 offenders wanted by police on outstanding arrest warrants for a number of crimes committed in the Geelong area.<\/p>\n
The public call-out aimed at locating wanted offenders is now in its second week and forms part two of a three-month collaborative campaign between Crime Stoppers Victoria and police.<\/p>\n
A significant number of intelligence reports have so far been received to Crime Stoppers from the community and passed to Geelong Police for further investigation, while two wanted offenders have also been arrested as a result.<\/p>\n
One offender from the latest group of 10 has already been arrested.<\/p>\n
Geelong PSA Inspector Craig Darlow said police were now investigating new information received in relation to the wanted offenders released during week one.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe community has been very proactive in coming forward with information to assist in finding the first series of wanted persons.<\/p>\n
\u201cProgress has been very positive in terms of locating a number of these individuals and we thank everyone who has either provided information or promoted the campaign over the past week.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe message is clear to anyone with outstanding warrants: we know who you are, the community will tell us where you are. If you know you are wanted by police, come and see us before we come and see you.\u201d<\/p>\n
CSV has again urged the community to get behind the collaborative campaign and report what they know to the crime-fighting charity confidentially.<\/p>\n
\u201cCommunity information is integral to solving crime,\u201d CSV general manager Cathy Rhodes said.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo one knows their neighbourhood better than the people that live and work there.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese offenders are wanted for serious crimes committed in the local area with many wanted for multiple offences. They must be held accountable for their actions.\u201d<\/p>\n
