{"id":79196,"date":"2022-09-20T04:00:21","date_gmt":"2022-09-19T18:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=79196"},"modified":"2022-09-20T08:46:48","modified_gmt":"2022-09-19T22:46:48","slug":"shires-program-aims-to-make-an-impact","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/shires-program-aims-to-make-an-impact\/","title":{"rendered":"Shire&#8217;s program aims to make an impact"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Surf Coast Shire has teamed up with Make A Change Australia to roll out the Expand Your Impact program across the municipality.<\/p>\n<p>Expand Your Impact is a collaborative initiative designed to encourage people to think a little differently and grow success in any area of life.<\/p>\n<p>Participation in the social venture can be by subscribing to receive resources and\/or by joining a supportive network.<\/p>\n<p>The program is free from this month until April 2023, and all residents, businesses and organisations in the Surf Coast Shire are invited to take part.<\/p>\n<p>It explores six key areas useful for making change happen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vision &#8211; Discovering and rediscovering &#8220;what lights you up?&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Projects &#8211; Giving thoughts and ideas the structure to &#8220;make them happen&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Story &#8211; Creating your compelling narrative &#8211; to &#8220;engage others&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Team &#8211; Building networks, growing communities and enlisting &#8220;support&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>People &#8211; Working together effectively for &#8220;greater outcomes&#8221;, and<\/li>\n<li>Digital Tools &#8211; Navigating the world online with &#8220;impact&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Shire mayor Libby Stapleton encouraged people and organisations across the shire to explore what the Expand Your Impact program has to offer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is such an accessible and flexible gateway to finding inspiration, valuable learning and momentum for ideas,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Anyone who wants to achieve more, learn more, make better connections, or generally be more effective can benefit from the range of resources available.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Part of the appeal is that people can dive into multiple workshops or just one workshop, and the interactive online sessions provide great options.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There is also a great deal to be gained through the sharing of ideas and inspiration with people across our partner regions, including four other municipalities and the Landcare network.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Karen Corr from Make A Change said the program provided local people and organisations with useful approaches to boost energy and effectiveness, in order to assist in addressing challenges and to learn new skills.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Particularly over these past few years, this style of program is proving to be the perfect fit for people who want to link easily into new ideas.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;People participate for many reasons including reassessing what is most important, developing new methods for success, connecting better with community, adapting to change, and developing effective new strategies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>People can take part in Expand Your Impact in three ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend free online workshops delivered as six interactive sessions, across six consecutive weeks, in an opportunity to connect with community, develop new skills and discover practical solutions in a fun, friendly format. Workshops start on October 19.
