SOUTH Colac’s thrashing at the hands of Lorne in 2019 is well and truly in the rear-view mirror, as it rewrote the script in 2022 and defeated Irrewarra-Beeac 9.5.59 to 6.2.38.<\/p>\n

The Kangaroos were we kept goalless in the first term, but were still just four points behind the Bombers at Central Reserve in Colac.<\/p>\n

South Colac awoke in the second quarter to kick four goals and earn a slim four-point lead at the main break.<\/p>\n

Irrewarra-Beeac pulled back the deficit in the third, 39-37, setting up the fourth quarter to be a nail-biting finish between both sides.<\/p>\n

The Kangaroos’ defense saved its best quarter for last, limiting the Bombers to one behind, while South Colac pulled away in the fourth with three majors to secure the 21-point win.<\/p>\n

Josh Black and Nick Lynch’s two goals led the way for the Roos, while Tyler Black, Michael Embrey, Jordan Foley and Steven Presani added to the side’s majors.<\/p>\n

South Colac’s win was the club’s sixth CDFNL Premiership in its history and first in 20 years.<\/p>\n

Same result, different opponent as Swans repeat in extra time<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alvie’s premiership reign will continue another year after its one-point win over Irrewarra-Beeac following added time on the netball courts at Central Reserve.<\/p>\n

Following on from its win over Otway Districts in 2019, the Swans had its noses in front by a lone goal after overtime against the Bombers, taking the premiership back to Alvie with a 49-48 score line in one of the tightest CDFNL finals in league history.<\/p>\n

Alvie’s Georgia Robinson and Jaymie Lowe rounded out the Swans’ scoring with 27 and 22 goals respectively.<\/p>\n

Irrewarra-Beeac’s Courtney Garner and Rachel Rodger amassed 28 and 20 goals each in the Bombers’ loss.<\/p>\n

Best-on-court nominations for Alvie included Georgia Robinson, Rosie Barrow and Laura Kelly, meanwhile Courtney Garner, Grace Langdon and Rachael Seabright wore similar honours for Irrewarra-Beeac.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
