KEEN explorers will get the chance to earn prizes during September school holidays with a special treasure hunt taking place in Anglesea.<\/p>\n
For the second year running, Anglesea Community House, Business and Tourism Anglesea (BATA) and Anglesea News and Lotto are teaming up to create a special treasure hunt map to give children and their families for the chance to explore the beautiful surrounds of the town.<\/p>\n
“In our first year we had over 70 kids get involved, which was an outstanding effort, which led us to think that we needed to make it a common annual fixture,” Anglesea Community House community engagement co-ordinator Marcelle Renkin said.<\/p>\n
“Essentially the course is designed to encourage children and their families to get out and about by walking, jumping on their scooters or getting out on their bikes to enjoy the outdoors.<\/p>\n
“Each person can pick up their map at the Anglesea News and Lotto from Corinne, and will be tasked with filling it all out and then returning it back to the newsagents to go into the draw to win a prize.<\/p>\n
“Prizes this year will be generously donated by local businesses and we can’t wait to see everyone’s entries.”<\/p>\n
This year’s course will explore many of the natural elements of Anglesea including the three parks and playgrounds as well some of the local beaches.<\/p>\n
Anglesea Community House is encouraging everyone to get involved and wish all treasure hunters good luck.<\/p>\n
