SURF Coast traders got back in the game yesterday (Wednesday) morning at Torquay Commerce and Tourism\u2019s (TCT) first event of the year.<\/p>\n
The free \u201cBack in the Game\u201d breakfast at Growlers drew about 60 owners and staff from businesses in Torquay and beyond, who shared stories and talked about the end of the peak summer period.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re definitely back in the game, aren\u2019t we, after a fantastic trading summer,\u201d TCT president Cathy Stacey told the crowd.<\/p>\n
\u201cI bet most of you here have done a little bit of travel\u2026 and I bet that most of you, like myself, when you come back to Torquay, recognise and say thanks because we live in the most amazing part of the world. What makes it even more fantastic is a thriving business community and a thriving economy, and for us to thrive, we need to work together.\u201d<\/p>\n
She said TCT believed in three things \u2013 \u201cwhen we work together, whatever we do has to be good for us, it has to be good for you, and it has to be good for the greater good. Unless those things are there, it\u2019s just not going to happen.\u201d<\/p>\n
TCT will hold three kinds of events this year, including the Sunrise Series.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re really excited (for this) because we want you to walk away feeling full of education and inspired,\u201d Ms Stacey said.<\/p>\n
TCT will again run its After Surf casual after work events, and brought Torquay business group Bizz3228 under its umbrella over the summer and will continue to host the monthly showcase of leaders in the business community.<\/p>\n
